In its dance and video art production bodyRealities, the DIN A 13 dance company examines the impact that places, landscapes, and locations of personal experience have on individual body memories and how these spaces are reflected in physical movement.

Together with film authors Miriam Jakobs and Gerhard Schick, choreographer Gerda König leaves the purely physical realm of unscathed or scathed bodies to trace these contexts: in the jungle of Sri Lanka - paradise and war zone in one - and in a Buddhist temple - a symbol of spirituality, but also of the political ploys of the monks during the fairly recent 30-year civil war in Sri Lanka.

As the places in Sri Lanka differ tremendously, so do the biographies and bodies of the performers. The classically trained dancer Mahesh experienced the organized resistance first hand, whereas Pushpa joined the civil war as a soldier at the age of 19.
